Vomiting, Loose Motion, Clammy Skin. Diagnosed As Virus Infection. Prescribed Ibuprofen

My son vomited twice this morning and had loose bowel also and his skin was clammy. My husband took him to the doctor, they say he has a virus. He rested and was feeling somewhat better. He ate chicken soup and crackers this evening and a short time later, his head started to hurt. It is hurting him so much he is crying. It is hurting on the left side of his head. I gave him ibuprofen and some water. He is resting now. He hasn't vomited any more and no more loose bowel. How can we help him?

Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.

Monitor for signs of dehydration. The signs of dehydration are

1. decreased passage of urine.

2. Sunken eyes

3. Dry mouth

4. Increasing thirst

5. Irritability or lethargy.

Please contact your doctor if any of these are present.

ORS or any other fluid containing salt and sugar should be given to prevent dehydration.
Your doctor after a physical examination may prescribe antiemetics for his vomiting. Please contact your doctor for physical examination and self medication could be dangerous some times.

Continue to ask further queries.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
