Vision Damaged By Wood Piece, Images Obstructed By Black Patches. Previous Eye Injury. Treatment?

I have had an eye injury at the age of 10 and now i am 28 years old.
My vision in the right eye was damaged by a wood piece though there was no wound i could not see through my right eye i could see some images obstructed by black patches (optic never damage) in my right eye.
Related to this i had consulted the doctor 5-6 years ago and learnt that the treatment was not yet available for this injury.
Please guide if there is any treatment available to cure my eye sight.
I face problems while driving and while playing sports.

Hello

In my opinion, your doctor has rightly opined that there is no cure if the optic nerve is permanently damaged. However, to determine the extent of damage you can go for a fresh MRI of the orbit. Also, get your slit lamp and fundus examination done. By doing these, you will know the prognosis of the disease and treatment if any can be initiated.

Meanwhile, with no vision in one eye I'll advise you to refrain from driving four wheeler vehicles.

Regards
