After 20 days i had a rna test and it came back negative. we ended up hooking up again and it was unprotected i had a lot of anxiety so i had another rna test 7 days after exposure. It came back negative. she said she made it clear to me she was hiv negative. How effective is the rna test and should i take another test when I'm 20 days after exposure moneys not an issue.

Hi,

Usually, the RNA testing is very precise and can be taken after 9 days of exposure. You did it at the 7th day of the exposure. If it resulted negative, then, no HIV.

However, to be sure, I'd recommend to do it again as you are saying are 20 days after exposure.

Hope it helped!
