Hello and welcome to HCM
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a disease where the ovary produces multiple folloicles in every cycle (monthly cycle) but none of the follicles are able to mature.
In each ovarian cycle one follicle matures and releases mature egg or ovum into the fallopian tube to be fertilized.
In PCOS, this release of mature ovum.egg does not take place.
Metformin is the main stay of treatment of PCOS.
However, you have not mentioned for how much time you are taking medication.
For conception in case of PCOS, long treatment and patience is required.
An addition of clomiphene along with follicle tracking is required, however under the supervision of your gynaecologist.
Follicle tracking is done under ultrasound guidance where the increase in size of the follicle and its rupture is noted. Clomiphene aids in ovulation from the ovary.
Consult you gynaecologist and take care
