UTI Infection, Painful Urination, Diagnosed With Endometrial Cancer. Had Hysterectomy. On Oxybutynin. What Is Wrong?
How often can you get a UTI infection? I get them often I suffer with pain in my left side as well as pain urinating. I also take 15mg of oxybutynin cl er 1 a day and 5mg at night. 2012 I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer which time I had a hysterectomy. Would this cause the incontinence and the constant UTI infections? Janet
hi, UTI is quite common in sexually active females. according to one estimate 80% of women at some point in their life will experience UTI. However some females are more prone for UTI because of certain genetic predisposition. The incontinence you are experiencing is most likely because of infection and its called urge incontinence. You have to get your urine culture done and should be treated by sensitive antibiotics. You need further evaluation if you are getting recurrent infection. May be you can be started on suppressive antibiotics for prolonged duration to prevent infection. Please consult a urologist.
