hi,
the possible causes for your problem are,
stress and strain, changes in weight etc due to fasting can alter the menstrual cycle and can lead to menorrhagea,
thyroid hormonal balance can also get affected due to fasting, in hypothyroid status menstrual irregularities like menorrhagea can occur,
so you once consult gynecologist and take tablets for stopping of periods, possibly after recovering your usual dietary habits you may have normal cycle next time, if not better to get evaluated once to find out the cause.
take care.
