Treatment For Diabetes And Low Blood Suger

My father age 76 diabetic with a little high creatinine and urea in blood was prescribed galvus met 50/1000 after lunch and Lantus Solo star Injection 8 units after dinner. Blood pressure although normally continuing to be hi dropped during fever which he had in the last week. To substitute Lantus Glizid was prescribed to betaken orally after breakfast and dinner and Galvus to continue after lunch. It appears he cannot take proper food as a post fever effect. He has no fever now. But very weak. Weight 56 KGS. Approx. He is appearing to be suffering from frequent reduction of blood sugar level, sometimes restlessness. Even sometimes he is unable to respond properly please advice. YYYY@YYYY

Hello,
His frequent falls in blood sugar levels seem to be due to his less intake of food after the fever.
It would be prudent on your part to take the glizid out of the treatment schedule at the moment and can continue with GALVUS.
Keep a track of his blood sugar levels.
The moment you find that sugar levels are increasing, you may add GLIZID back but with once a daily routine in the beginning.
This way you can keep monitoring his medicines as well as blood sugar levels.
Thanks
