Took Botox Injections On Each Side Of Face, Juvederm Injected Between Eyebrows. X-ray Shows Blockage In Left Sinus Cavity. Solution ?
hello, I had botox injections on each side of my face above my eyebrow. Also some Juvederm filler injected in between my eyebrows. I recently had an x-ray at my dental office that showed blockage in my left sinus cavity. I went to my PCP who repeated the x-ray and prescribed a ten day antibiotic (augmentin) I had a follow-up x-ray which showed blockage. My doctor ordered a CT scan and left a message on my phone tonight that the scan was not normal. I cannot talk with my PCP until tomorrow to get the details. I am concerned that the botox or filler may of penetrated my sinus cavity. Do you know if this is possible?
Hello, Botox is injected in skin and in no condition can penetrate in the nose and that too at the sinus and at the sinus opening. sinuses are hollow spaces in the bone with opening in the nasal cavity. These sinus opacities might be there previously and may be because of some nasal allergies or nasal blockage the sinus opening might have blocked . For the sinus opacities you just need to discuss the scan with your doctor that is there any anatomic abnormality that needs to be taken care of otherwise the medical management may help.
