General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The ultrasound findings are suggestive of endometriosis with an endometriotic cyst. Endometriosis is a condition where your endometrium is present in ectopic (abnormal) locations. As a result, they respond to hormones and behave like your normal endometrium-bleeding cyclically, causing pain, etc. The additional problem when they are present in your abdomen is that they can cause adhesions which means things stick to each other. Depending on your symptoms, there are a few medications available. in severe cases, laparoscopy is used to clear out the deposits.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
