Patients with Thalasemia are prone to develop certain peculiar infections. I suggest you need to get a chest X ray done. A proper physical examination to check the throat for a proper diagnosis is needed. Patholgies that could manifest with throat manifestations and chest tightness, at times mimicking asthma like Gatsroesophagal Reflux Disease should be carefully checked for.
I suggest you consult your primary care physician or hematologist. best regard and wishing you good health. Best regards,
