i have been prescribed to take norethisterone to delay my period while i go on holiday. I was told to start taking them 2 days before my period and continue to take 3 a day for 10 days. however i came on my period early, so i started taking norethisterone on the first day of my period. i have been taking it for 3 days now and my period has reduced but not stopped. why isn t my period stopping? what do you suggest i do?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

As you stated normally the norethisterone is used 2 to 3 days prior to expected onset of the period. It is used 3 times a day.

Because your period came earlier than expected the norethisterone can only reduce the flow.

I hope this helps
