Taking Metformin. After Taking It Feel Nausea. Take A Full Glass Of Water. Taking Coversyl Plus HD Also. Suggestions?

Hi: I'm taking Metformin for Type !! diabetes and every time I take it after a meal, I have a nausea feeling for over an hour. The doctor doesn't seem to be concerned, however I am not comfortable about this. I'm supposed to take three pills a day, but I have reduced it to two a day and still feel nauseous. I take with a full glass of water. Also My doctor has put me on Coversyl Plus HD ( 5 mg.) and according to the information on it, these pills should not be taken with Metformin. What do you think I should do? Thank you. Anne

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Note down few things about the use of metformin.
The dose of metformin is 250 mg two times in day and gradually increase the doe 500 mg two times in day. (maximum dose is 3 gm/day in two divided dosage).
This drug should be taken 15 minutes BEFORE meal .
Side effects are nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, loss of appetite, confusion etc.

DIURETICS reduces metformin effects.

Coversyl's ingredients are perindopril +indapimide ( diuretic ).

Metformin interacts with diuretics .
In my opinion you should not take concomitantly these two drugs.
Dose of metformin is twice in a day.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
