Taking Metaloc For BP. Will Alprazolam Help Bring Down BP?

Sir, I am 47 & slightly over weight. I take regular morning walk (brisk) for about an hour. My B.P is constantly 145/90. The doctor has put me on Metaloc xl 25. I am taking this medicne for the last one year. But my B.P has not come down. The doctor has also advised me alprazolam 0.5 at bed time. Please suggest. Thanks.

Alprozalam is not an antihypertensive. It is used either as a sedative or an anxiolytic. Metaloc xl 25 mg is a very small dose, I suggest you seek help from a physician to up the dose. Continue brisk walking.
