Taken Mucinex For Severe Sore Throat And Cough With Green Phlegm. Can It Be Related To Previous History Of Bronchitis?

So on November 23rd I started developing cold symptoms. They would persistently get a little worse. By Friday November 29, I was fine. My throat was a little bit dry and I would occasionally cough, but other than that my cold was pretty much done with. The following day my cold got worse. I felt like I had a severe sore throat. On Sunday, it only got worse. I was coughing and I could barely speak. I felt like I had a massive amount of phlegm in my throat. On Monday I started coughing up this very thick green phlegm. It wasn t at all runny. It was very very thick. Not only that but when I blew my nose I also got that same green phlegm. So I went out and got mucinex to thin out the phlegm, I can t say it really helped or not. I did start feeling very weak and like I could pass out. I figured it might be the expectorant in the Mucinex. So the following day the phlegm was so thick I felt like I couldn t breathe. I started gagging until I hacked it up. Then I thought that was it. To my surprise I started hacking up more. That whole day I hacked up about a good 10 chunks of mucus, not to mention I was constantly blowing green thick mucus out of my nose. I decided not to take Mucinex fearing that it would only make me feel weak like the other day. Turns out it wasn t the mucinex, I still felt weak and developed a headache. My face started feeling very flushed and I felt very hot. I felt as though I had to stick my head in the freezer, at the same time thought I also felt cold. So this morning again i had this very thick green mucus in my throat that i coughed up and I still have more. I was wondering if there is any need to see a doctor or if this well go away on its own? I have this headache at the moment I don t know if its because of all the coughing. Also if it helps I m an 18 year old female. I have had bronchitis last year. Please get back to me soon. Thank you.
