Swelling, pain on the inside of right ankle. Put in splint, using crutches. Treatment?

I have been having pain and swelling on the inside of my right ankle. I had XRays taken and they came back fine. I was put in a splint and told to use crutches for a few days. the swelling comes and goes but the pain stays the same. I havent twisted or sprained it. I woke up a it was like that and has been for a couple weeks now.
