Suggest Treatment For Weakness In The Arm When Diagnosed With Spinal Radiculopathy
Just diagnosed with spinal radiculopathy. Has resulted in weakness and pain in the left arm and serious pain near the left shoulder blade. I need to draw pain free and with both hands as I am a practicing architect. Also a type 1 diabetic. Any advice?
Physiotherapy is the key solution for your radiculopathy pain. Plus, as you are type 1 diabetic, should keep your blood sugar levels within normal range.
Start with over the counter painkillers. Apply analgesic cream near the shoulder blade and spinal cord at that area to ease the pain. Should consult with orthopaedic specialist when you should go back to your work as an architect.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
