Suggest Treatment For Swelling, Redness And White Spots On Tonsils

Hi, I have been having problems with my throat for the last 3 years and I have swollen, red tonsils with white spots on them. I went to the emergency room and they gave me codeine and penisillin, that didn t help so I went to this free clinic and they said I had strep and gave me allergy and antibiotic medicine, I am almost done with my antibiotics and it isn t going away. My redness is kind of, but the white spots aren t going away and it looks like I am growing something on my right tonsil. Can you help?

Hi,

The appearance of swelling, redness and white spots on tonsils indicative of the following:
Infection of tonsils that this can be diagnosed and treated in the following ways
Consult your Doctor ans ask for tests of blood and throat swab for gram staining, culture and sensitivity.
His clinical opinion and examination would help further by looking at it, palpating neck for nodes and general examination.
The reports will indicate for the cause and you will get a specific treatment with antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines, gargles and so on.
Complete the course well as such diseases may take longer than one week hence the need of regular follow up.
