Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat

Hi, I ve had a sore throat for 5 days now. 2 days ago I lost my voice, I m finding it very hard to swallow, it can be really painful, and it feels like there is something stuck far down in the back of my throat. along with this I have had headaches, runny nose and cough, my ears felt blocked for a short while and now I have conjunctivitis as well. Any ideas of what could be wrong as I have to sit a 3 hour exam tomorrow? (I m 20 years old, 5 6ish and weigh around 73kg. I am on fluoxetine for depression and recently had the 3rd Hep B jab as i m going on placement in a pathology lab).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be to a respiratory tract infection. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest using a throat spray for antibacterial properties. I also recommend to drink liquids and rest.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
