Suggest Treatment For Skin Irritation Around Waist

I ve developed a skin irritation around my waist within the past 7 days. It is all around the waist line and feels like a sunburn sensation. There is no visible rash or marks. I have been trying to research the feeling and have seen shingles as an option (I have had chicken pox) but it isn t concentrated to one side and there is no rash/redness/blistering. I m a 25 year old male, relatively healthy, 5 7 , 150lbs.

Hello,

I understand your concern for skin irritation around waist. There can be multiple possibilities of the skin irritation around waist.

If these are areas of irritation are located on one side of the body then there is high possibility of shingles in yourself. If these are bilaterally distributes then it can be just a simple allergic process to any contact allergen or clothes or change of weather or anything related so you need not to be worried aobut the same.

As you are young man of 25 years and also the lesions are not present on one side so I don’t think that these are related with shingles. I suggest you to keep a watch over the affected area. In my patients I would have preferred to give a calamine lotion to apply over the affected area.

For itching or irritation I prefer to give an antihistamine such as cetrizine or levocetrizine or loratadine for two times a day for few days.
