Suggest Treatment For Skin Darkening Due To Itching On Skin

i am Margarita, 43 years old ,Filipino, a lupus survivor for 21 years and last year this lupus waxed and affected my kidney and it caused why am in dialysis for a year now . My question is I i scratched my legs due to itching and i noticed that portion of my skin darkens, my doctor said it is a scar and no cream can treat it , is my doctor right? i am seeking a second opinion. Please if there is a treatment for this , what is it?Is glutathione safe for person who is in dialysis?

Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

I understand from your query that you are having marks on your skin left behind by scratching. I also understand that you are on dialysis.

I would consider the possibility of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

You could use creams with 2 % Kojic acid to lighten it.

The scratching per se could be due to dry skin which is common in patients on dialysis. Use a good moisturizer like aveeno 2-3 times a day to prevent scratching and thus prevent marks.
