Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath And Dry Cough
hi, I am a 45 year old woman. I have been experiencing shortness of breath and a dry cough for over two months. I have had an echocardiogram which came back normal. The earliest appointment for me to see a pulmonologist is in January. I have a nebulizer at home and use vials of albuterol which seems to help only a little. Any recommendations or ideas what might be causing my problem. (my mother died of copd)
Probably you're suffering from an allergic variant of cough or cough variant of asthma. Other possibilities like chronic bronchitis or cold or interstitial lung disease or bronchial asthma etcetera.
Avoid cool drinks and freeze water. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Use saltwater gargling and water vapor inhalation thrice a day for five days. Use tablet montelukast and levocetrizine at night for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
