General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely you are having dermatitis/eczema on your hand as the rash comes and goes and has been there for years.

I would advise you to use a combination of an antifungal cream (clotrimazole) with a steroid cream (betamethasone) twice a day. This treatment can be used for 1-2 weeks and can be restarted if the rash comes back.

You will need to avoid any contact with chemicals that make you worse and also use vaseline ointment every time after washing your hands.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
