Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cold And Ear Pain
Hello, I had a cold 3 weeks ago, lots of sinus pain. I saw my gp last week for ear pain and was given drops. I am not in pain but my head still feels stuffy and the whites of my eyes are red. What can I do to get well again, I m a mum to 3 aged 6 and under am tired and fed up. Many thanks Sarah
As per your complain the symptoms of sinus pain along with stuffiness and redness in eye are all appearing to be symptoms of sinus infection or Sinusitis..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room.. You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.. Do warm compresses around nostrils..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
