Suggest Treatment For Painful Swollen Lymph Node On The Armpit

Hello, I am a 46 yr old female. I have noticed a swollen lymph node in my right armpit, wasn t painful until I felt around on it , but appears to be fixed in location. I also have developed perioral dermatitis 3 months ago. Could these be related? I have degenerative disk disease, chronic back pain and use a fentanyl patch, plus pain medication ( if this is a factor).

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful swollen lymph node on the armpit. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like bacterial or viral infections , fat tissue growths , allergic reactions , fibroadenoma, improper cleanliness and lymphoma. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination. Doctor will examine physically to check the consistency and tenderness . Doctor may also take biopsy and blood test to get that completely examined and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial ( amoxicillin ) or anti viral ( acyclovir ) along with anti inflammatory . For now apply warm compresses on armpits twice a day .
