Suggest Treatment For Painful Lumps On The Surgery Spot
I had a c section 6 weeks ago. My scar healed very well. However, I noticed a few hard painful lumps or bumps along the incision last night. The skin around the incision is kind of red and swollen but thereis no puss or oozing. Do you think the incision might be infected or it is scar tissue related thing?
Hi. As per your case history you are having suture site infection. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
