Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I feel pain from my middle finger s knuckle after a punch. There was some swelling in the first week after the injury which then receeded.During the next two months sometimes I feel little pain while I use my hand but I can t locate the exact source of pain. In addition my knuckle seems to have change a little bit like something has moved from its position when I compare it with the same knuckle of my other hand. I would be grateful if you could inform me about possible causes and give me any suggestions
A punching injury to the knuckle especially in the presence of a deformity when compared to your other hand is most likely to be as a result of a fracture. You need to get x rays done asap since the injury seems to have been more than 2 months ago. So get an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon without wasting any more time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. John Chacko, Orthopedic Surgeon
