Suggest Treatment For Painful, Itchy Raw Skin On Labia

Hello, I ve been suffering with raw skin on my outer vaginal area for the past five months. It appears like clockwork every Thursday afternoon and lasts until the following Monday. I ve always been susceptible to yeast infections, so I m very familiar with how it presents. This is different as it effects only the labia majora and labia minora. There is no discharge, but it s very painful and itchy. There are no blisters, rather it appears torn in some area and like abrasions in other areas (like a skinned knee). OTC remedies help with the pain and itching, but do nothing to end the problem. I am currently in between medical insurances, so if possible, I would like to be able to cure this on my own. What are your thoughts? Thank you very much - JC

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to dryness and fungal infection. If you were my patient with such condition then I would advise ointments or creams with combination of antifungal like miconazole and corticosteroid like flucinolone for local application. I also advise fluconazole tab weekly once orally for 1 month to stop recurrence also. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area. You can use saline or warm water to wash instead of that. Also avoid hard detergents on underwear.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
