Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ear,throat And Jaw

A couple of weeks ago I finished a round of augmentin for a sinus infection that caused pain to the entire right side of my face, including my ear, throat, jaw and all down my neck. I m still in pain and when I move my neck I hear crackling in my ears. I know I have bad allergies but I have nothing in my nose to blow or clean out. I don t have sniffles or runny nose. Just pain on the right side. Ear pain is not severe but not mild either. It s been hurting for over a month. What is wrong with me?? Is there someway to fix this without taking more antibiotics? Are they just treating the wrong issue??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. The pain that you are feeling can be related to a reactive lymph node. You can use anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to see an ENT specialist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
