Suggest treatment for low grade fever and cough

Please . A week ago tomorrow, I began to run a low grade fever. A 3 year old granddaughter was visiting from Colorado and she had a runny nose and cough. Figured I caught a cold from her. My throat was a tiny bit sore, but not much. Temp varied going up to 101, then recently it has gone up to 102, but not above that. I recognize that is the limit, more or less, for a cold temperature to go. I don't have any energy and cough some. Nose drains some (mostly clear). And of course tomorrow is Saturday when all of the doctors offices are closed!

Should I be concerned about 102 temperature? And no, I didn't take anything to run the fever down. I should mention that on Wednesday, temperature was all gone, but came back up in the evening.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

As per your query your symptoms are of viral infection. Yes you should be concerned about 102 temperature as its not a low grade actually. Your symptom of fever off and on is because your immunity is lower down because of infection.

Antibiotics will not give much relief to you as yours symptoms are more like viral infection. You should take paracetamol to prevent fever and combination of decongestants and multivitamin tablet.

Your symptoms will resolve in 5-7 days. Avoid touching eyes, nose again and again. If your symptoms keeps on persisting the visit physician and get vaccination done.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
