Short answer the loss of sensations and pain is due to diabetic neuropathy
Detailed answer in diabetic neuropathy patient feel like pain numbness and tingling sensation in the foot.diabetic neuropathy is a complication of diabetes it occurs due to uncontrolled blood sugar.I will advice you to take a fasting and postprandial blood sugar test and consult your treating physician.
One more advice from me is that you may need an increase in the dosage of your diabetic medication along with daily exercise and spacing between meals .
