Hello,

Severe condition of diarrhea may need IV fluid to avoid or to prevent the dehydration. In moderate condition oral rehydration would be helpful.

Taking care of hydration is the first priority in case of diarrhea, else the illness is self-limiting. In severe to moderate condition, antibiotic is advisable like Ciprofolaxacin with Ornidazole twice in day for five days can be given.

Again, I say that taking care of hydration is must, do not try to check the diarrhea, else it may cause the serious condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
