It is 4.00am and I've been up for hours with an itchy foot. I have previously seen a professor in Dermatology, and an allergist and immunologist who is also a professor. I have been told in the past that there is no sign of allergy or any physical problem, that it is stress related. I believe this is so as it began five years ago when one of my sisters finally succumbed to Breast Cancer, and continued for about six months after. I only seem to be troubled bt this when in stressful times. My immunologist, who I've known for about twenty years told me to take Panadol as soon as the itch begins, as it is a form of pain and to treat it as such. In the past this has worked, but over the past three weeks paracetomol has not helped very much. I now have one foot resting on an ice pack...not very good for my skin tissue...but I am absolutely distraught when I remove my foot from the ice pack. I doubt it there's anything that can be suggested but I thought i'd give this a go...I am so tired and need some sleep. Thank you for any new advice that may be out there...Helen
PS I have been wondering if acupuncture would be of any help.
Well, I should have known that someone would need to be paid for their advice...sorry, I won't continue.
