Suggest Treatment For Irregular Periods And Abnormal Nipple Discharge

Hello! I used postinor 2 regularly and I think I over used it. Now it s causing irregular period for me, I went to see a doctor and he asked me to go do an hormonal profile test which I did and I m yet to get the result. My fear is, he said there could be over secretion of some hormones in my body that could lead to infertility. If that s the case, is there a solution to it? I also noticed little substance coming out of my nipples

Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

As you have rightly said overuse and irrational use of emergency contraceptive pill like Postinor tablets can lead to menstrual period irregularities.
Such pills need to be taken only occasionally and only if you have unprotected sex activity in the fertile period of the cycle, meaning between day 10 to 20 of the cycle.
Frequent intake will reduce its efficiency and can lead to menstrual cycle problem.

I will suggest you to get USG done to know about the uterus and ovaries.
This will also help to rule out PCOS-polycystic ovaries syndrome as a cause of your irregular periods.

Secondly, please get day 2 hormone levels done that includes FSH, kg, prolactin and AMH.
This will help to know if raised prolactin levels is a cause for your abnormal nipple discharge.
If so, please seek prescription support from your treating doctor for Cabergoline for the same.
