Hi,
From your description, this bleeding appears to be a menstrual period. Implantation bleeding is usually not profuse; it is only a slight streak and is a fresh bleed. It can however, continue for several days and may be confused with a natural period. If you suspect pregnancy, you can get an estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres done to clarify. The history of painful heavy bleeding is typical of endometriosis. This can in itself cause some infertility, but not necessarily always. A sonogram can also be helpful for further evaluation. Hope this helps.
