Suggest Treatment For High BP In A Diabetic Patient

Hello Doc,
My husband has diabetes and high blood pressure .But recently his diabetes has been normal.But his BP is always high so he has medication for that.My questions: is whisky good for him?vodka? Wine?if not how many glass is allowed? And he smoke cigar too, 2stick a day.

I read your query and I understand you concern.
If blood pressure is high naturally it should be treated and if with his current treatment it's still high then treatment should be reconsidered because dose augmentation or adding another drug for high blood pressure might be necessary.
As for smoking it is absolutely not indicated. He already has two major risk factors for vascular disease (heart attack, stroke etc) which are diabetes and high blood pressure, smoking is one of the other major risks which should be stopped, it is really important.
Alcohol as well is not recommended apart from a single glass of wine a day.
