General Surgeon 's  Response
hi.

noted history of folliculitis. avoid shaving the area for now, manipulation and application of strong chemical irritants. if it's just folliculitis, the inflammation usually resolves in a few days time. it might have been infected if symptom is persistent. it is best if you consult with a doctor, preferably a general surgeon for physical examination and clinical evaluation. medical (proper antibiotic regimen) and surgical, if idications are found, (incision and drainage if there is abscess formation already) management will be directed accordingly.

hope this helps.

good day!!
