Suggest Treatment For Fever

my wife has fever reaching up to 99.5 and some times 100 F . Doctor has advised CEFSPAN 400 twice a day initially for three days. Temperature in the morning is normal but if she gets busy in work at home the temperature reaches to again 99.5 F. So how much days we should continue this medicine.

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

After going through your question, I can understand your concern.

Tab Cefspan is a antibiotic.
I will recommend it to be ttaken for at least 5 days.
Even after 5 days if fever does not subsides then there is a need for further evaluation.

Depending upon detailed clinical examination appropriate investigation can be planned.
In that case following investigation may be required -
- Complete Blood Count.
- CRP, ESR.
- Urine examination.
- Chest X-ray.
- Ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis.
- Blood culture.

Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
