Suggest Treatment For Excessive Weight Loss While On A Stressful Job

My husband, age 53 is always tired, has lost about 15 pounds over the last year and didn't really have it to lose (5'9" 175). Takes naps whenever he can and sleeps usually 8 hours a night. He has a very stressful job and runs constantly. He has been sick for a solid month and refuses to go to the doctor except about his latest cold. I am afraid it's bigger than that, should I be concerned or overprotective?

15 pounds in one year could be normal weight loss. As you describe here that the job of your husband has been very psychically demanding, in such case a weight loss of that amount could be normal. But Yes, if he is not maintaining healthy and getting sick frequently and refuses to recover early, this could mean that he has low immunity which is secondary to the low vitamins, depletion of vitamins can be due to excessive physical stress. I would advice to get an complete haemogram done to rule out anemia possibility. A vitamin B12 level testing. I also advice a course of multi vitamins for a period of at least two months. Moderate exercise and yoga, good healthy diet and adequate sleep will improve his condition.
