Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is having very heavy night sweats which is not common for him ever since he had a tonsillectomy and grommets, he had his agonising removed too. This happened 7 days ago, and every night from then he has woken several times through out the night drenched in sweat - is this normal?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have excessive night sweats . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food poisoning , anxiety disorder or gastritis , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to viral infection . The symptoms can also occur due to hormonal changes . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor may check symptoms , order blood test along with checking vitals . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drugs like acyclovir , anti pyretic or antienetic drug . Doctor may refer you to gastroenterologist for gastric problem or ENT specialist for ear problem . For now take paracetamol and drink hot green tea with ginger .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
