Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through you query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain as you have a whitish saliva there is a possibility that you have thickening of saliva due to reduced serous secretion of saliva and progressing towards dry mouth..
It can be a cause of swollen taste buds as well as bad taste in mouth..
Other cause of swollen taste buds and bad taste can be due to side effect of any medication or conditions like acid reflux, oral infection etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination can be diagnostic..
As of now do warm saline gargles.
Chew sugarfree chewing gums to stimulate saliva flow..
Do soda bicarb gargles..
Drink plenty of cool water..
Avoid spicy food..
Maintain a good oral hygiene..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
