Suggest Treatment For Elevated SGPT And SGOT Levels

Good day Dr. Gopi, I am Vincent 37 years old. I've been recently diagnosed with DCM and given these meds:0.25 mg digoxin, 6.25mg carvidolol, 4mg coversyl, 25 mg aldactone, 40mg lasix and 81mg aspirin. just 2 days ago, i had my general check up and the blood result was elevated SGPT(150) & SGOT(70), I wat to know if what treatment or medication should I take to decrease it.thank you and God bless. Thanks for posting query at HCM.

Usually ALT or AST values higher than "two times the upper normal limit", is considered abnormal ( in some countries, ALT or AST values of more than 100 are considered abnormal).

Value of AST or ALT greater than 85 or above maybe investigated further.

viral hepatitis ( HAV,HBV,HCV) are common cause of elevated liver enzymes. Typhoid fever may also affect liver and cause high liver enzymes.
Some medications also lead to elevated liver enzymes.

Rule out viral causes and take a second opinion from your treating physician for the prescribed medications.
