Suggest Treatment For Dry Throat

I have had a dry throat for about 6 days now.. I thought it was something with the air or something, but now I am not so sure, because usually I can get that kind of thing to go away with drinking water (and I drink ALOT of water). Well today after several days of trying to see something/ANYTHING in my throat because I am paranoid, I realized that one of my tonsils is slightly larger than the other. It is slightly swollen but only hurts when I apply pressure. Nothing else is on it or anything but I just don t understand what is going on. I don t have any other symptoms and it is driving me crazy. I had unprotected sex about a month and half ago, and I m worried, is this a common sign of std?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Please do not worry as this is not a sign of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). The dryness is likely to be due to anxiety.

Please meet your doctor for further examination and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Satvinder Bakshi
