Hi,

Based on your symptoms, you may have an upper respiratory infection, such as a cold or flu, or even a worsening of your asthma. Here are some possible causes of your symptoms and treatment options:
* Upper respiratory infection: This is a common cause of sore throat, coughing, wheezing, and congestion. Treatment may include rest, staying hydrated, taking over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and using cough suppressants or expectorants as needed. You can also try using a humidifier or steam to help soothe your throat and ease congestion.
* Asthma exacerbation: Asthma is a chronic lung condition that causes inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to wheezing, coughing, and difficulty breathing. Your current symptoms may be due to an asthma flare-up. Asthma treatment may include using your rescue inhaler, taking oral steroids or other medications to reduce inflammation, and avoiding triggers that can make your symptoms worse.
* Allergic reaction: If you have allergies, exposure to an allergen like pollen, dust, or pet dander can cause symptoms such as a sore throat, coughing, wheezing, and congestion. Treatment may include taking antihistamines or using a nasal spray to reduce inflammation.
* Other causes: Other possible causes of your symptoms include acid reflux, post-nasal drip, or anxiety.

It's important to see your doctor if your symptoms worsen or don't improve within a few days, especially if you have difficulty breathing chest pain, or a fever. Your doctor can perform a physical exam, order diagnostic tests like a chest x-ray or blood work, and recommend appropriate treatment options based on your specific condition.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Shailja Puri's  Response
Hello,

Sore throat, coughing and blocked nose - all suggest upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest you to consult an ENT specialist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations like X-ray of nasal and para-nasal sinuses. Management can be planned after clinical assessment and result of investigations is received.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
