Suggest Treatment For Dry Acne Spot On Face

okay, so I had this random breakout around the crease of my nose on the left side about 2 weeks ago. I made it way worse then it would have ever gotten. I scrubbed the pimple too hard, which caused the skin to break and it was open... then I would put ice on it to try to make the healing process faster. now its like this really dry patchy spot on my face. :( its embarrassing! oh, and I sometimes scrub my face waaaay too hard. any suggestions?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of dermatitis secondary to harsh cleansing/ scrubbing.

I would suggest that you use a mild cleanser instead of scrubbing the face too harshly.

Use a topical steroid+antibacterial cream twice daily for 5 days over the dry spot.

An oral antibiotic like Azithromycin 500mg OR doxycycline 100mg might be needed for the breakouts for 4-12 weeks depending on the severity.

If i was your treating doctor i would have asked you to apply a topical antibacterial gel like clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide gel twice daily for any breakouts that happen in the future.

take care
regards
