Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea And Rectal Bleeding

I have had painful uncontrollable diarrhea for a couple years now. About 6 months ago I started bleeding from my rectum. It doesn t matter if I have a bowel movement, or just gas. At first it was light pink small amount. Now it s larger than a 50 cent piece on toilet paper and bright red. I do get hemorrhoids, but not that I notice now, and I was diagnosed with tumid lupus last year. I am 43 years old female

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

To treat diarrhea, take anti diarrheal. Avoid eating fried food, spicy oily junk food. Take antacids & PPIs to avoid discomfort. Stay well hydrated to help maintain body electrolyte system. Take ORS, Electrol, juice & water. Take oatmeal, custard, etc. Avoid eating raw fruits vegetables. Rectal bleeding occurs commonly due to hemorrhoids, anal fissures. It may occur due to serious factors like ulcerative colitis, rectal ulcer, rectal prolapse, ischemic colitis, rectal trauma, anal cancer, colon cancer.

You are suggested to take sitz baths for relief, avoid constipation. Apply ointment Prilox cream and Prilox forte ointment in the area affected. Get clinically examined by a GP. Get all blood tests, investigations and imaging tests done. You will be treated accordingly. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
