Suggest Treatment For Diaphoresis

Hi there...i have been waking up with exessive diaphoresis, this started about a month ago. I now currently have a head and chest cold for a little over a week that has produced a headache each morning and this is the second time in about 2 months that this has happened. to my knowledge i had no fever. i started on zoloft 1month ago, i have been on propranolol for approx 10 years for tx of POTS. i feel dehydrated each morning which is probably the reason for waking up with a headache, but im not sure if the medication or possibly the flu is to blame or both. my cough is worse each day and now im told i cough all night. can you help thanks Trish

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The common cold or flu can be associated with a headaches as part of the symptoms.

Fever, coughing and decreased oral intake may be contributing to your dehydration. It is important to use enough fluids throughout the day.

There are cough suppressant medications available over the counter that can help reduce your cough. You may want to use one that is combined with a decongestant because part of the coughing is sometimes due to secretions going from the nose to the back of the throat.

If the cough is wet, a mucolytic (medication to break up mucus) would be needed.

I hope this helps
