Suggest Treatment For Diabetes And Renal Failure

I have MS, diabetes, and renal failure. I am on dialysis and have been losing my hair, my nails are paper thin, and I have sensitivity to cold. All symptoms of hypothyroidism. However, I take Levothroxin. My hair is so thin , I have difficulty covering my scalp. I am 65 and am in good health otherwise.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking here.
Despite taking levothyroxine, if your symptoms aren't controlled then either your dose is inadequate or you have recently started taking medicine. If you are a chronic patient & taking levothyroxine for a longer time then undergo serum TSH level for dose increment accordingly.
Secondly it is very important to rule out anemia in hypothyroidism & renal failure as anemia causes poor hair growth & thin nails too. Undergo blood complete picture & follow-up with these reports please.
