Hello, my mom is 83 yrs old, cat scan showed mild chronic white matter periventricular....she suffers from severe depression, and some cognition issues, severe aniexty and panic by nature all her life a very nervous person...

In dementia, patient has no insight about memory loss and in pseudo-dementia, patient has. If your mother feels that, she has low mood and she is not able to recall thing, in that case, she needs antidepressant for pseudodementia. It would resolve in few weeks with antidepressant.
