Suggest Treatment For Deep Vein Thrombosis During Pregnancy

my wife is 7 month pregnant and she is having DVT.she was under Enoxaparin sodium for last 3 days and now doc wanted to discontinue and prescribing Acitrom. they are not sure how it is going to affect her. should we go with Acitrom or continue the injection? also they are also giving her Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium. I am worried whether they are over medicating her. pls advice. thanks.

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Acitrom has a good anticoagulant action compared to enoxaparin, andhence has a ggood efficacy in preventing further deep venous thrombosis.
It is safe for the mother, however it can cause intrauterine growth restriction in fetus if given at this stage.
Amoxicillin clavulanic acid is not a safe antibiotic in pregnancy as it can cause necrotizing enterocolitis in the fetus. You should consult the doctor to switch her over to a safer antibiotic.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
