Suggest Treatment For Cough

I have an annoying cough that seems to be caused by a small amount of fluid getting into the top of my wind pipe. A specialist is treating me for asthma but this is not changing anything. I am not suffering from asthma but did have it as a child more than 40 years ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Treatment of cough needs investigations like blood counts/Xray chest/sputum culture & sensitivity. This gives an idea about nature of cough. It can be infective/allergic/asthmatic.
allergic cough many a times involves bronchi & cause wheezing. It is chracterised by increase in eosinophills in blood.
Upper respiratory tract infection ( tonsillitis),or pneumonia also have cough.
Please consult a chest physician ,get investigations done & specific treatment according to cause.
Thanks.
